PAUL SOPHUS EPSTEIN: 1883-1966. Theoretical physicist; Professor of Physics, CIT 1921-53. Mathematical physicist whose early research was on theory of electromagnetic waves. In later years, interest in quantum theory of atomic structure. The papers include general and family correspondence, lecture & talk manuscripts, class lecture notes (taken by a Caltech student), technical notes, technical paper manuscripts, reprints, and books (in Russian and German).
