Historical File On Stanford H. Hart
Stanford H. Hart was hired in 1930 as a machinist in the astrophysics optical shop at Caltech to work on instrumentation for the 200-inch Palomar telescope. According to his memoir, he invented an automatic door opener for Einstein. He stayed on at Caltech during WWII and later as an instrument maker until 1958. Material includes audio tape of interview; transcription (partial?) of the interview; anecdotes and photos in a bound memory book.
