Altimeter in leather case
Given to Archives by Lillian Weitzner, from estate of Heinz Lowenstam. According to Weitzner, the instrument was used by Lowenstam in field work in Palestine in the 1930s. It was given to him by Von Drigalsky, who had had it on the German Antarctic expedition. See Lowenstam oral history, p. 24. Manufacturer: German-made.
