K-band oscillator (Neher tube, Neher klystron) and adaptor
Experimental model of K-band oscillator, manufactured by Western Electric/Bell Labs, numbered 1462 ND702. This tube was developed by Victor Neher at the MIT Radiation Lab during World War II. Relatively few were manufactured. Used after the war by spectroscopists. This tube has the name “Yost “ scratched on the skirt (Don Yost, CIT PhD, chemistry, 1926; chemistry professor, 1927-64). With special adaptor by DeMornay Budd (no. 399).
