Harry Bateman Papers 1906-1947

HARRY BATEMAN: 1882-1946. Mathematical physicist and professor of physics, mathematics and aeronautics at Caltech (originally Throop College), 1917-1946. The collection includes manuscripts on binomial coefficients, notes on integrals and related material ; and a small amount of personal correspondence (including H. Lorentz, A. A. Michelson and others). Also included are one-half box of lantern slides and 21 notebooks of lecture notes taken by Edmund Pinney for six courses taught by Bateman from 1938-1942. A set of Bateman's reprints was added to the collection in 2001.
