Handsome Fred. Frederick Marshall.
General Frederick Marshall, born 1830 and educated at Eton, had a distinguished military career. He joined the 10th Hussars in India as a lieutenant, then transferred to the King's Dragoon Guards as aide-de-camp and Master of the Horse to the Earl of Carlisle in Ireland. In cricket, he became captain of United XI of England.
