Lt.-Col. Henry Stracey, of the Scots Guard, was born 1839 into a Norfolk family. He would be appointed military secretary to Sir James Fergusson at the Bombay Court. [Biographical text accompanies caricature.]
["Ape" was the pseudonym of Italian caricaturist/illustrator Carlo Pellegrini (1838-1889).]
