This consisted of 3 high-altitude nuclear weapons explosions, sea-launched, in summer 1958. Discusses strategic as well as scientific reasons for project; connection with discovery of naturally occurring radiation belts (Van Allen belts); also Explorer I satellite. Mention and pictures of some Caltech persons, including W. Pickering, L. DuBridge and C. Millikan. Shelton is Caltech alumnus. Produced by ITT Industries. Color. Video tape not dated.
