Historical File On Nicholas W Tschoegl
Contains obituary. Nicholas Tschoegl (1918-2011) was born in Moravia into a family of French and Austrian descent. In 1948 he and his family fled Eastern Europe, settling first in Australia and then in the U.S. Tschoegl became a professor at Caltech in 1965, first in materials science, then in chemical engineering. His main research area was on polymers, specifically block copolymers and synthetic rubber. Tschoegl traveled widely and lectured on many topics, including the ancient civilization of Atlantis and the development of languages and writing systems. See also: Nicholas W. Tschoegl oral history.
