ALBERT TYLER: 1906-1968. Biologist, Instructor and Professor of Biology, CIT 1929-68. First student to earn PhD in biology at Caltech (1929). Known for research on fertilization, work on the chemistry & physiology of fertilization process and fertilization-anti fertilization theory. The papers include class & lecture notes, experiments & data, professional correspondence, Marine Biological Laboratory (Corona del Mar) material, and reprints.
