Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure
Caltech’s Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure came into existence in 1950. Its first chairman was Robert Bacher. He passed these documents to George Beadle, in whose papers they were found and then separated out and placed with Caltech committee records. They concern Linus Pauling. Further papers of the Committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure may be found in Documents of the Drever-LIGO Controversy.
