Two large folding engraved plates. 2 p.l., 51 pp. 8vo, orig. wrappers (spine a little worn), uncut. First edition of this important publication containing the instructions for making lightening conductors adopted by the French Academy of Sciences on the basis of the report by a commission consisting of Poisson, Lefevre-Ginau, Girard, Dulong, Fresnel, and Gay-Lussac (who actually wrote the report). It advocated the use of platinum pointed conductors. Fine copy, Rare. Old library stamp on title.
