Papers Of Robert A. Millikan 1897-1953
ROBERT ANDREWS MILLIKAN: 1868-1953. Chief of Executive Council, CIT 1921-45. Best known as an experimental physicist. The papers include correspondence, holographic notes, lab notebooks (including the oil drop experiment which was basic in Millikan's work on the elementary electric charge and on the photoelectric effect for which he won the Nobel Prize), and a manuscript of his autobiography. There is a published guide to the collection.
