CHARLES FRANCIS RICHTER, 1900-1985. Seismologist, Professor of Seismology, CIT 1937-1970. Known internationally for development with Gutenberg of the Earthquake Magnitude Scale and for research on seismic regionalization. The papers include personal & professional correspondence, unpublished talks, class & lecture notes, technical notes and data, CIT Seismology laboratory material, and reprints.
